SUMMARY OF RESUME
B.Arch from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology in Architecture and Urban Planning (1980).
2011 to date - Run my own firm and very active in residential construction, particularly as part of TAMA 38 (a nationwide program for expanding urban construction and reinforcing building foundations against earthquakes) as well as urban renewal transactions.
From late 2009 to end of 2011: Municipal Engineer and professional leader on the planning committee of the new town of Elad (42,000 residents). In this capacity, I was involved in organizing work processes, raising the standard of computerization and service to the resident; I promoted and guided a new master outline plan for the city and plans for building hundreds of residential units.
In 2006 I taught urban planning for about two years at the Faculty of Architecture at Tel Aviv University. In 2007 I served as a special assistant of the City Engineer of Ramle (73,000 residents).
For years I have been involved in environmental sustainability, renewable energy and "green" planning. In 2008 I completed my studies in Green Construction at Tel Aviv University.
From 1997 to end of 2004, I served as City Engineer of Arad (40,000 residents) and local planning committee engineer. During this period, apart from the rehabilitation of the Engineering Department which was on the verge of collapse and dysfunction and apart from managing a work team and attending to the department's ongoing tasks, I addressed and guided new urban plans for thousands of residential units, while advancing these plans vis-a-vis government ministries, the Ministry of Housing and Construction, the Israel Lands Administration, planners, district committees (mainly Southern District) and the National Planning Administration.
Initiation of new plans in collaboration with elected representatives responsible for strategic planning and urban development. Promotion and advancement of master plans and a new outline plan, including hammering out the details with the government ministries, selecting planners and being part of the steering team (the plan is about to be finalized). I also computerized the engineering department.
At the beginning of my career, I worked for three years in the IDF Building Center (management of projects and planning teams), established a private firm (executed dozens of private and public projects, and mainly urban building plans).
In the IDF, I served as lieutenant colonel (reserves), division chief-of-staff, my last position after serving as regimen commander. (I received an honorary discharge from the IDF after ten years of voluntary service in the reserves.)
